Life long interest and fascination with sailing, since playing with model boats as a kid, and then later learning to sail as a teenager on Strangford Lough in Ireland.   My career has been based on a concern for our surroundings and environment,  practising as an architect, where sensitivity to design, form and materials dictate the basis to thinking.   This translates to all design, artifacts and boats alike.

Over the years acquired RYA qualifications to finish with Ocean Skipper theory, but still an ocean or two to cross.

Life Style

Should the stresses of modern life stop you from making time for sailing in order to relax?   No, the rarity of these beautiful Classic Yachts today only makes us appreciate the skill of their craftmanship and the sheer excitement of sailing them and reliving the now unique pleasure of early sailing days again.

Life is too short not to think about well-being as a part of your life.

Joining this team for the enjoyable challenge that it represents could perhaps be the mainstay to reinvigorating your life.

Conclusion

The restoration of Ancora represents not only an important piece of our maritime heritage, but also our Olympic sporting history in sailing.

Ancora was the culmination of years of work by the designer Morgan Giles, and the skills of his yard at Teignmouh. Their efforts in designing and building this wonderful boat ultimately achieved success in the world competition of the Olympics at Antwerp and is an inspiration for a new team effort to restore the boat to its former glory a hundred years later.

The skill required of David Moss and his yard to undertake the restoration work is no less of a challenge than that of Morgan Giles, and with our support it will become a consummate achievement that we can all take great pride in undertaking.

The task of restoration is not only for the present and for ourselves to enjoy sailing this delightful yacht, but equally it is an object of beauty for many to appreciate and an important classic yacht for future generations to treasure and revere.

Means of Contact

I should be pleased to discuss any interest or provide further information on this endeavour at any time, so please call me or send an email.      Better to speak to me rather than disturb work at the boatyard.  I shall organise visits to the yard and the boat for interested parties  ----   Stephen  Hall
